Mind, Body, Soul

Life is so fast, to busy and way to precious to be living it like its a marathon all day, everyday. I often don't relies how tired I am and how I have a plate full of things to do that often half of them are tea-dies but I allow myself to stress over it. I love this time of year, the flowers growing, birds arriving, temperatures warming and daylight staying around longer. This is so inspirational for me when life becomes alive. I want to be more present with myself and healthy, more optimistic and loving. Just like any job in life we have to work at something if we want to get it moving in any direction whether its completion or evolving.
One of my classes I attended in Phoenix was titled "Life in Balance" by Dr. LowDog. This women is amazing in who she is. She is so smart, beautiful and present with everyone. During the presentation she gave tons of website for healthy choice foods and knowledge. Not your "eat less of this more of that" websites but the sites that tell you what fruits and vegetables to by organic because of the higher risk of pesticides. You can keep updated on that site Here. When she got to explaining stress she mentioned it shuts down your organs. Your stomach stops digesting all the way to reproductive organs not working. This explains why many women (including myself) have a hard time having a healthy pregnancy or a pregnancy at all.  Half way through she went over the importance in daily multivitamins and flax-seed for men. You see tons of multivitamins out there but I am not sure which one is better for me. Is the name brand vitamin better? What about vitamins at Wal-mart or Target? I have heard some vitamins don't even dissolve all the way so they are useless. After the class Lisa and I went up and asked Dr. LowDog what her input is on brands or if she even had a recommendation. She responded with "The higher amount you pay for your vitamins the more likely they wont dissolve, sad but true (pills)." The test she gave us for the multivitamin was to put it in a cup of water and if it doesn't dissolve in 30min its no good. Sure enough within 10min my multivitamin started to dissolve and in 30min it was dissolved at the bottom of my cup. That made me happy.
Did you know there is temperatures for oil not to exceed? Its true, you should never have oils hot enough for them to be causing black smoke. They become toxic after a set temperature. I wish I lived in a place that had classes like this. The health of the body is amazing and scary at the same time.
One more interesting tidbit, check out F.LUX this is a software you can download for free that makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day. It makes your computer screen look like the room you're in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again. This is to help with sleep and body balance. Now all that's missing is a nice massage to go with this message.

Birthday Dog!

This spoiled, loved to much, pup is 7 today! (49 dog years) I found her on puppyfind.com and have been in love ever since. She came from Oklahoma in July 2005 and has no idea what a "real" dog life is like. Here is Miss Zoe over the past few years.

Fight for Hunger

On my last day at the convention center there was a food drive for Fight for Hunger. All of these displays are made out of canned food. Here is how Arizona does their food drives!

Ahh MY bed

My bed is not, repeat not, as comfortable as I would like it to be but there is something that makes you look forward to it so much after being gone. I made it home with a little pink on my cheeks and aches in my calf's from walking in flip flops. Am I complaining? Oh no!
The Dental Conference was informational, busy and huge. There was also a girls dance competition going on at the same time and I felt like I was on that tv show "Dance Moms" but this time all the moms were lets say more healthy... :)
I heard that Spring Training was just finishing up at the same time so Phoenix was a busy place. I went to Starbucks Saturday morning before my class and the line was so long it had no were else to bend. I felt like we all should have rolled up are sleeves and had someone put in a drip line so we could get our fix. At that moment I walked out and decided I could live without Starbucks....for a few days.  Lots of excitement for me on this trip and much needed de-stressing.
