Don't lose REAL

About two weeks about I deleted my Facebook app from my iphone. I found myself mindlessly browsing when I could be spending more time being present, more time being REAL and more time enjoying the crazy moments of being a Mother. I wasn't getting wrapped up in the so called Facebook drama that usually makes people disconnect I just want true friends, true moments and real life laughter not lol's.  I want real meaningful conversations with people who don't hide behind a screen inviting you to all their intimate life events but in person avoid you. This is not the kind of relationship I want my kids to grow up thinking is normal. Normal is having lunch dates, sharing your struggles, listening to your friends heart & enjoying real deep belly laughs.

I thought I would miss it but there was nothing to miss that was that urgent. I was present and realized what is more important in my life then what someone ate for dinner.

This isn't a hatter post on Facebook because I do love that it brings distant family and friends together. I still have my account but I access it only on my computer. I still post, share images and read updates but the point for me is that Facebook is limited and not my family time.

Our Morning with the Great Grandparents

9:00am and the chain saw starts, the "little tractor" as Bryson calls it makes its way down the beach. My grandparents and their neighbor friend are out tendering to their yard just as they do every year. Its beautiful, they take such great care of their little world on the beach, its inspiring. I only hope that when I am their age my ticker is still as strong as theirs.

Bryson puts on his coat and boots and we make our way out of the house and meet them on the beach. You see they are our neighbors. Its such a blessing!! I love that my Son gets to play on the beach where (my Mom) his Grandma grew up and were I myself have played. He gets to wave to them out the window and visit many times, "Over the river and through the woods.... "
Here is our morning on the beach enjoying the days together.
