Gender Predictions

As long as our baby is healthy B & I are happy with whatever gender God blesses us with. I have been on Baby Center and love reading other mother's comments and predictions of their babies gender. So, B & I did some research and testing. Some of these test are crazy but we had fun along the way.  Here is what we came up with:

The Chinese Gender Calendar is considered one of the oldest methods for predicting the gender of an unborn baby. By this calendar we conceived in March so this prediction says we are having a  Boy.

I have heard that you can predict the gender of your baby by using the heart rate of your baby during pregnancy. It was said that 140+ BPM was a girl and under 140 BPM was a boy. Our babies heartbeat was 152 BPM. So this prediction say we are having a Girl.

A week before my Mother (or us for that matter) knew we were pregnant she had a dream we were having a Boy.

If its a boy:
  • You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
  • Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
  • You are carrying the extra weight out front
  • Your belly looks like a basketball
  • Your areolas have darkened considerably
  • You are carrying low
  • You are craving salty or sour foods
  • You are craving protein -- meats and cheese
  • Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy
  • The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy
  • Your hands are very dry
  • Your pillow faces north when you sleep
  • Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you
  • Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
  • Your urine is bright yellow in color
  • Your nose is spreading
  • You are having headaches
  • You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number
If its a Girl:
  • You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
  • Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute
  • You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
  • Your hair develops red highlights
  • You are carrying high
  • Your belly looks like a watermelon
  • You are craving sweets
  • You are craving fruit
  • You crave orange juice
  • You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy
  • You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
  • Your face breaks out more than usual
  • You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread
  • Your breasts have really blossomed!
  • Your pillow faces south when you sleep
  • Your urine is a dull yellow color
  • You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number.
When we add up the amount I am having for each we have more symptoms with the Girl gender.

The craziest of all... The baking soda test. That’s right, baking soda. What you do is put a little bit of baking soda in the bottom of a disposable cup and then add a little bit of your urine to it. If it fizzles like a soda pop, it may be a boy. If there’s no fizzle, it may be a girl. Our results had no fizzle saying we may be having a Girl.

Some predictions can get pretty crazy but in the end when that little bundle of heaven arrives the real answer is you are precious no matter what gender.  By these myths the majority is saying were having a Girl .  Our next ultrasound to find out the gender is July 20th. Stay tuned for pictures from our reveal party!!

We survived the Derby day weekend and instead of catching the pounds we probably eat them. This years derby was the slowest in many years. I caught one fish the first weekend at 12.4lbs and managed the next two weekends watching a pole that had as much action as a married couple of 40years... The weather was beautiful enough that I burnt so bad it took almost a whole week for my face to look normal instead of a cherry tomato. B caught one fish as well. It was a VERY long three weekends. My Dad managed to get a 32.5lb king salmon five hours before the final weigh-in time which landed him in 8th place. With catching very little that 32.5lb king looked huge! B had his birthday on May 27th spending it with the in-laws fishing with I attended the 2012 graduation for a dear friend of mine. Time is flying, Did I ever mention its my 10 year high school reunion this year to? sheesh! B is putting together his new BBQ he got for his b-day present, mmm steaks, Zoe is all recovered from her surgery (bye-bye ladyhood) and I am ready to go to bed. I am so blessed that this pregnancy is so far amazing. No morning sickness, no cravings and no mood swings but man do I love to sleep. One downside... I will tell you pregnancy brain is NOT a myth, repeat NOT a myth!! I will be driving down the road and then be wondering were I am driving to?!?! Oh, this is the best one yet, At my job I put a lady on hold walked to the back of the office came back to the front and asked my coworker who she put on hold?!?!?! LOL, its down right ridiculous but I would take it over morning sickness. I had my 15week check up and everything is going great. The dreaded weight gain so far is only 3lbs, few! The baby's heartbeat was so precious and the measurements are right on track. Four more weeks and we are hopeful to find out what we are having!!!
