Don't lose REAL

About two weeks about I deleted my Facebook app from my iphone. I found myself mindlessly browsing when I could be spending more time being present, more time being REAL and more time enjoying the crazy moments of being a Mother. I wasn't getting wrapped up in the so called Facebook drama that usually makes people disconnect I just want true friends, true moments and real life laughter not lol's.  I want real meaningful conversations with people who don't hide behind a screen inviting you to all their intimate life events but in person avoid you. This is not the kind of relationship I want my kids to grow up thinking is normal. Normal is having lunch dates, sharing your struggles, listening to your friends heart & enjoying real deep belly laughs.

I thought I would miss it but there was nothing to miss that was that urgent. I was present and realized what is more important in my life then what someone ate for dinner.

This isn't a hatter post on Facebook because I do love that it brings distant family and friends together. I still have my account but I access it only on my computer. I still post, share images and read updates but the point for me is that Facebook is limited and not my family time.
