The Mommy Hairdo, THE TRUTH

I haven't giving much thought to cutting my hair, you know the Mommy Hair Cut after you have a kid... Honestly, I like my hair long even if I only "really" do the blow dry, make it look nice thing a couple times a month. It makes me feel like an umpa lumpa if its cut above my shoulders. Just ask my sister, I cried the last time she cut it that short. She has her hairdresser license and has been cutting/dying my hair for the past 8years. Kinda spoiled? YUP! When Bryson was three months old my hair started to fall out by the HAND FULL! This fun little post partum event happened over the next three months. THREE MONTHS!!! Just this past month I have noticed I have a 3/4" afro around the base of my roots. Huh, this is interesting to work with. If I cant get the front patches to lay down with hair products it looks like I let an unattended child loose with scissors up in here. Everyone talks about the labor pains but really?!?! How did you forget you went bald? Thanks for the warning! Ha!

Chaising Tail

The sky was dark with a little light from the stars, a small trace of phosphorus glows off the boats wake as we made our way to the fishing grounds. Bryson and Grandma took a nap while B, Grandpa and I prepared for a great day of Halibut fishing. The anchor was set, the poles baited and sank to the bottom. Now we wait...
This was Bryson's first time Halibut fishing and he was great! We contained him in the anchor line bucket while we brought the Halibut aboard. On the way back to the dock we saw a Mountain Goat on the beach! Ummm What?!?!?! I thought we were seeing things.
Our freezers are full and our tummy's will be stuffed!

Mom, Whats for Dinner?

Mmmm I could eat these all week. Cheese filled meatballs! With our spaghetti night I needed to spice it up so this delicious dish is what we had.

Here's what you'll need:
  • 1 lb Hamburger
  • 1 1/2 TBSP Minced Garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 3/4c Bread Crumbs
  • 1 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1TBSP Garlic Spread
  • 1 Egg
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/4c Spaghetti sauce

Ok, here we go...(Remember I cook with a little of this and a little of that)  I like to cut the Mozzarella cheese into small cubes and freeze for about an hour before I start anything.  Pre-heat oven to 375* Make your own spaghetti sauce and set aside on simmer.

In a large bowl take your hamburger and add all the ingredient except the cheese, with more or less for taste and texture. You want the meat to stick together and not be wet/runny.

Make balls about 1 1/2" in size and press your frozen cheese into the center then cover making a ball again.
Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.

A littler Further North

I didn't have the nerves as I did when he was two and a half months old. I know his needs, I know him, I am his Mom. Bryson and I headed North to visit my Sister and Niece. Four and a half hours on the same plane with multiple stops we arrived in Anchorage happy, sleepy and rested. Bryson was SO good the whole way I didn't even feel like we traveled. We sat next to a lady that was very helpful and we had great conversations the whole way. I was thankful to have met her.
Bryson and Niece Cora were both tired when we arrived so the car ride home was them screaming back and forth. Super fun :) We had a great week. The weather was a little rainy but we got lots of time just being sisters that I have missed so much! The kids even had a play date and the Moms had adult time. Yes, it does still exist.  We packed up the kids and headed to the State Fair with Starbucks in hand. Ok, the Starbucks is everyday but still its a must! Fair FOOD Haha, need I say more?!?! Bryson loved the animals. His first time to a fair and my favorite part was watching him learn, watching him take in the world around him through those beautiful blue eyes. He is heaven.

I have to admit, My sister and I got a little obsessed with making baby blankets. Joanna's Fabric store had a HUG Labor Day sale and we kinda went there a few to many times. It was like crack for the stay-at-home craftier Mom!

Cora & Bryson at the beginning of the week...
At the end of the week! Haha
We missed Daddy while we were gone.
